A few days ago me and my homeschool theatre group went to a few different retirement homes to perform our radio play, Aunt Martha and the Baseball Game from a popular 50's radio show called Father Knows Best, which is on tv nowdays. The first retirement home had Budgies in the lobby/living room, which I was soooo exited about! Budgies are a really great pet to have in a retirement home, 1. Because they are cute, exiting and something for the residents to talk about. 2. Because they make happy noises. 3. Because the residents can say it's their pet. 4. Budgies bring cheer into any sad soul. My part was Betty Anderson. The Andersons' oldest daughter. My little 'sister' the youngest of the Andersons, Kathy and the Announcer shared a microphone with me. We took turns getting in front of it when we said our lines. The other characters included Bud (The teenage brother who is the middle child.), Margret (mother), Jim (father) and Aunt Martha. (The baseball loving old dawager)
Hello blog readers! It's November, cold and bleak. Cold weather also makes your lips get chapped and peeling, so I thought I'd share with you a lip balm recipe! This recipe is for cocoa butter and beeswax lip balm. I usually add an essential oil to my lip balm. Peppermint goes really well with the cocoa butter and makes a delicious cocoa peppermint aroma and flavor when it goes on your lips. I cannot get enough of this lip balm! It is so soothing and yummy! This recipe makes a soft glossy balm. If you don't like the consistency of your balm, roll the stick of balm all the way out, pull it out and melt it down again, this time adding more beeswax. However, do not add as much beeswax as you have added cocoa butter. I learned that the hard way!
Cocoa butter beeswax lip balm recipe: 1/2 cup cocoa butter wafers 2 tbs beeswax. -if you want stiffer balm, add more. Lip balm tubs or tubes Peppermint essential oil Microwave the cocoa butter and the beeswax in separate containers for intervals of 30 seconds until melted. Mix both ingredients together, and lightly stir with a fork. Add 10-15 drops of peppermint essential oil depending on the thrilling tingle effect you want. Pour into the lip balm containers. Let your lip balm sit for 45 minutes before trying it on. Because I know you'll be diying to! Homemade lip balm makes a great gift or stocking stuffer! Have fun and share this recipe with your friends! Goodbye for now! 💟 |
